Happy Sheep Festival!
So did you all have a nice Indigenous Peoples' Day?
What, your city doesn't recognize Indigenous Peoples' Day?
It probably doesn't recognize any of the following holidays either:
- Genocide
Memorial
Day.
Exactly which genocide should be remembered is clearly up in the air. At least Berkeley is showing some rare consistency. - Errol
Barrow day.
- Soccer's so big in Bermuda that they have an actual national holiday for it -- Cup Match Day -- every year.
- Sadly, I couldn't find any information about the Sheep Festival, other
than that it's celebrated on May 21 in Cameroon. Which is a pity, because
I really, really wanted to read about it.
- Congo has a Naming Day, but I doubt this is what they meant.
- Ochi
Day.
"Ochi" means "no" in Greek, and the person who heard it was Mussolini, when he asked Greece's prime minister if he could invade. - Iran's Day of Nationalization of the Oil Industry is another holiday
that there isn't much information about online. However, I did find that
you can order
flowers for the occasion.
- The US will never, ever have a Respect for the Aged day.
- Celebrate Macedonian independence on Ilinden. You must, of course get the t-shirt.
- And to bring this full circle,
Colon Day
is
not what you think.
